Friends of Amma Evening satsang with Br Shubamrita

Date & Time: Wednesday 9 December. 7pm
Venue: 18 Connaught House, 1 Davies Street, Mayfair,
London W1K 3DA
Tube: Bond Street/Green Park

A wonderful opportunity has arisen to spend an evening with Br Shubamrita, one of Amma's closest disciples and composer of many of the songs sung during... bhajans. The evening will include a spiritual discourse followed by bhajans and meditation.

Please let Yamunah know if you are coming on vakeesyam@fastmail.fm so that catering can be arranged.

Brahmachari Shubamrita Chaitanya, one of Amma’s closest disciples and her personal Translator visits the UK each year.
Shubamrita was born in South India, grew up in Bombay and graduated in chemistry and biology. After meeting Amma in 1987 he went to live in her ashram, and in 1996, he was initiated by Amma as a monastic. For years, Shubamrita edited the ashram’s official journal, Matruvani. A gifted singer and musician, he is also the author of many of the beautiful songs Amma sings.

Friends of Amma Review of Amma's visit to London

www.amma.org.uk
Amma, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, is a saint like no other. For the past 30 years, Amma has dedicated her life to the upliftment of suffering humanity through the simplest of gestures - an embrace. ...
Friends of Amma

Friends of Amma Calling all volunteers who can spare some time to help with Amma's visit.

We are hoping that as many volunteers as possible, and certainly all those who are named as co-ordinators, will be able to spend next Sunday, 13th September, with us at Alexandra Palace, going through some of the exciting challenges of working in ...the Great Hall for the first time.

The day will run from 11 am to 5 pm, and I hope you can come to as much of it as possible.

11 am we start with chanting the 108 names of Amma and singing some bhajans.

11.30 we will have an introductory talk, outlining the latest developments, including a time for questions.

12.00 we will outline the accommodation available for key co-ordinators and sevaks

12.15 there will be general questions from key co-ordinators

12.45 Vandita will talk about how seva works, and what she is looking for and offering

1.15 to 2.30 Lunch
This will be a chance to chat, and for volunteers to talk to the key co-ordinators, to find the best place to fit in. This will be a pot luck cold lunch, so please bring something with you.

2.30, meetings and mailout
We will break up into smaller groups. Individual departments will meet with Kamal (on hall issues) and Kamaljit (on catering issues). Would the key co-ordinators please book a 15 min slot for this? Please email Kamal or Kamaljit
Also the various key co-ordinators will have meetings with their own teams.

While this is going on, those of you who were involved with the envelope stuffing session for the mailout in August will know that we had to stop part way through. We have stuffed the envelopes with raffle tickets, leaflets and envelopes. Just last week the opening times of the Visit changed, so we have had to reprint the leaflet. (the first day will be darshan from 11am straight through, with no satsang and bhajans).

Now the job is to replace the leaflet with the new one, and add in the personalised letter, which has also been reprinted.

Clearly 3705 envelopes will take a large number of man hours, so the more people that can get involved with this the better, so please join us in getting this important task done quickly.

5 pm Closing prayers.

I do hope you can make it. Don't forget to bring some cold food for lunch.
